فَأَجَابَ أَبْنَاءُ سِبْطَيْ جَادٍ وَرَأُوبَيْنَ: «كُلُّ مَا تَكَلَّمَ الرَّبُّ بِهِ مِنْ نَحْوِ عَبِيدِكَ نَلْتَزِمُ بِهِ،

And the children of Gad and the children of Reuben answered, saying, As the LORD hath said unto thy servants, so will we do.

30وَلَكِنْ إِنْ تَقَاعَسُوا عَنِ الْعُبُورِ لِخَوْضِ الْحَرْبِ مَعَكُمْ، فَإِنَّكُمْ تُوَرِّثُونَهُمْ فِي وَسَطِكُمْ فِي أَرْضِ كَنْعَانَ».

32فَإِنَّنَا نَعْبُرُ بِكَامِلِ أَسْلِحَتِنَا لِنُحَارِبَ بَيْنَ يَدَيِ الرَّبِّ فِي أَرْضِ كَنْعَانَ، وَلَكِنَّنَا لَا نَرِثُ نَصِيباً فِي غَرْبِيِّ الأُرْدُنِّ».
