WHEREFORE thou art without excuse, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest; for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things.

The scope of the first two chapters of this epistle may be gathered from ch. iii. 9 , "We have before proved both Jews and Gentiles that they are all under sin."
