Judges 12:6

Then they said to him, Say now + 12:6 Heb. שבלה, “Shibboleth,” ear of corn. If translated at all, the English may as well be put as the Greek. Alex. σύνθημα, q. d. watchword.Stachys; and he did not rightly pronounce it so: and they took him, and slew him at the fords of Jordan; and there fell at that time of Ephraim two and forty thousand.

Then said they unto him, Say now Shibboleth: and he said Sibboleth: for he could not frame to pronounce it right. Then they took him, and slew him at the passages of Jordan: and there fell at that time of the Ephraimites forty and two thousand.
