Psalms 103
A Psalm of David. 1 Bless the Lord, O my soul. 1 O Lord my God, thou art very great; 1 Thou hast clothed thyself with praise and honor: 1
Who dost robe thyself with light as with a garment; 1 Spreading out the heaven as a curtain. 1
Who covers his chambers with waters; 1 Who makes the clouds his chariot; 1 Who walks on the wings of the wind. 1
Who makes his angels spirits, 1 And his ministers a flaming fire. 1
Who establishes the earth on her sure foundation: 1 It shall not be moved forever. 1
The deep, as it were a garment, is his covering: 1 The waters shall stand on the hills. 1
At thy rebuke they shall flee; 1 At the voice of thy thunder they shall be alarmed. 1
They go up to the mountains, and down to the plains, 1 To the place which thou hast founded for them. 1
Thou hast set a bound which they shall not pass, 1 Neither shall they turn again to cover the earth. 1
He sends forth his fountains among the valleys: 1 The waters shall run between the mountains. 1
They shall give drink to all the wild beasts of the field: 1 The wild asses shall take of them to quench their thirst. 1
By them shall the birds of the sky lodge: 1 They shall utter a voice out of the midst of the rocks. 1
He waters the mountains from his chambers: 1 The earth shall be satisfied with the fruit of thy works. 1
He makes grass to grow for the cattle, 1 And green herb for the service of men, 1 To bring bread out of the earth; 1
And wine makes glad the heart of man, 1 To make his face cheerful with oil: 1 And bread strengthens man’s heart. 1
The trees of the plain shall be full of sap; 1 Even the cedars of Lebanon which he has planted. 1
There the sparrows will build their nests; 1 And the house of the heron takes the lead among them. 1
The high mountains are a refuge for the stags, 1 And the rock for the rabbits. 1
He appointed the moon for seasons: 1 The sun knows his going down. 1
Thou didst make darkness, and it was night; 1 In it all the wild beasts of the forest will be abroad: 1
Even young lions roaring for prey, 1 And to seek meat for themselves from God. 1
The sun arises, and they shall be gathered together, 1 And shall lie down in their dens. 1
Man shall go forth to his work, 1 And to his labor till evening. 1
How great are thy works, O Lord! 1 In wisdom hast thou wrought them all: 1 The earth is filled with thy creation. 1
So is this great and wide sea: 1 There are things creeping innumerable, 1 Small animals and great. 1
There go the ships; 1 And this dragon whom thou hast made to play in it. 1
All wait upon thee, 1 To give them their food in due season. 1
When thou hast given it them, they will gather it; 1 And when thou hast opened thy hand, they shall all be filled with good. 1
But when thou hast turned away thy face, they shall be troubled: 1 Thou wilt take away their breath, and they shall fail, 1 And return to their dust. 1
Thou shalt send forth thy Spirit, and they shall be created; 1 And thou shalt renew the face of the earth. 1
Let the glory of the Lord be forever: 1 The Lord shall rejoice in his works; 1
Who looks upon the earth, and makes it tremble; 1 Who touches the mountains, and they smoke. 1
I will sing to the Lord while I live; 1 I will sing praise to my God while I exist. 1
Let my meditation be sweet to him: 1 And I will rejoice in the Lord. 1
Let the sinners fail from off the earth, 1 And transgressors, so that they shall be no more. 1 Bless the Lord, O my soul.
