Psalms 114

1Alleluia. 1 I am well pleased, because the Lord will hearken 1 To the voice of my supplication. 1

2Because he has inclined his ear to me, 1 Therefore will I call upon him while I live. 1

3The pangs of death compassed me; 1 The dangers of hell found me: 1 I found affliction and sorrow. 1

4Then I called on the name of the Lord: 1 O Lord, deliver my soul. 1

5The Lord is merciful and righteous; 1 Yea, our God has pity. 1

6The Lord preserves the simple: 1 I was brought low, and he delivered me. 1

7Return to thy rest, O my soul; 1 For the Lord has dealt bountifully with thee. 1

8For he has delivered my soul from death, 1 Mine eyes from tears, 1 And my feet from falling. 1

9I shall be well-pleasing before the Lord in the land of the living.
