Psalms 131
A Song of Degrees. 1 Lord, remember David, 1 And all his meekness: 1
How he swore to the Lord, 1 And vowed to the God of Jacob, saying, 1
I will not go into the tabernacle of my house; 1 I will not go up to the couch of my bed; 1
I will not give sleep to mine eyes, 1 Nor slumber to mine eyelids, 1 Nor rest to my temples, 1
Until I find a place for the Lord, 1 A tabernacle for the God of Jacob. 1
Behold, we heard of it in Ephrathah; 1 We found it in the fields of the wood. 1
Let us enter into his tabernacles: 1 Let us worship at the place where his feet stood. 1
Arise, O Lord, into thy rest; 1 Thou, and the ark of thy holiness. 1
Thy priests shall clothe themselves with righteousness; 1 And thy saints shall exult. 1
For the sake of thy servant David 1 Turn not away the face of thine anointed. 1
The Lord swore in truth to David, and he will not annul it, saying, 1 Of the fruit of thy body will I set a king upon thy throne. 1
If thy children will keep my covenant, 1 And these my testimonies which I shall teach them, 1 Their children also shall sit upon thy throne forever. 1
For the Lord has elected Zion, 1 He has chosen her for a habitation for himself, saying, 1
This is my rest forever: 1 Here will I dwell; for I have chosen it. 1
I will surely bless her provision: 1 I will satisfy her poor with bread. 1
I will clothe her priests with salvation; 1 And her saints shall greatly exult. 1
There will I cause to spring up a horn to David: 1 I have prepared a lamp for mine anointed. 1
His enemies will I clothe with shame; 1 But upon himself shall my holiness flourish.
