Psalms 146

Alleluia, a Psalm of Haggai and Zechariah. 1 Praise ye the Lord: for psalmody is a good thing; 1 Let praise be sweetly sung to our God. 1

The Lord builds up Jerusalem; 1 And he will gather together the dispersed of Israel. 1

He heals the broken in heart, 1 And binds up their wounds. 1

He numbers the multitudes of stars; 1 And calls them all by names. 1

Great is our Lord, and great is his strength; 1 And his understanding is infinite. 1

The Lord lifts up the meek; 1 But brings sinners down to the ground. 1

Begin the song with thanksgiving to the Lord; 1 Sing praises on the harp to our God: 1

Who covers the heaven with clouds, 1 Who prepares rain for the earth, 1 Who causes grass to spring up on the mountains, 1 And green herb for the service of men; 1

And gives to cattle their food, 1 And to the young ravens that call upon him. 1

He will not take pleasure in the strength of a horse; 1 Neither is he well pleased with the legs of a man. 1

The Lord takes pleasure in them that fear him, 1 And in all that hope in his mercy.
