Psalms 44
1For the end, for alternate strains by the sons of Korah; for instruction, a Song concerning the beloved. 1
2My heart has uttered a good matter: 1 I declare my works to the king: 1 My tongue is the pen of a quick writer. 1
3Thou art more beautiful than the sons of men: 1 Grace has been shed forth on thy lips: 1 Therefore God has blessed thee forever. 1
4Gird thy sword upon thy thigh, O Mighty One, 1 In thy comeliness, and in thy beauty; 1
5And bend thy bow, and prosper, and reign, 1 Because of truth and meekness and righteousness; 1 And thy right hand shall guide thee wonderfully. 1
6Thy weapons are sharpened, Mighty One 1 (The nations shall fall under thee); 1 They are in the heart of the king’s enemies. 1
7Thy throne, O God, is forever and ever: 1 The scepter of thy kingdom is a scepter of righteousness. 1
8Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity: 1 Therefore God, thy God, has anointed thee 1 With the oil of gladness beyond thy fellows. 1
9Myrrh, and stacte, and cassia are exhaled from thy garments, 1 And out of the ivory palaces, 1
10With which kings’ daughters have gladdened thee for thine honor: 1 The queen stood by on thy right hand, clothed in vesture wrought with gold, 1 And arrayed in diverse colors. 1
11Hear, O daughter, and see, and incline thine ear; 1 Forget also thy people, and thy father’s house. 1
12Because the king has desired thy beauty; 1 For he is thy Lord. 1
13And the daughter of Tyre shall adore him with gifts; 1 The rich of the people of the land shall supplicate thy favor. 1
14All her glory is that of the daughter of the king of Heshbon, 1 Robed as she is in golden fringed garments,
15in embroidered clothing: 1 Virgins shall be brought to the king after her: 1 Her fellows shall be brought to thee. 1
16They shall be brought with gladness and exultation: 1 They shall be led into the king’s temple. 1
17Instead of thy fathers children are born to thee: 1 Thou shalt make them princes over all the earth. 1
18They shall make mention of thy name from generation to generation: 1 Therefore shall the nations give thanks to thee 1 Forever, even forever and ever.
