Psalms 7
A Psalm of David, which he sang to the Lord because of the words of Cush the Benjaminite. 1
O Lord my God, in thee have I trusted: 1 Save me from all them that persecute me, and deliver me. 1
Lest at any time the enemy seize my soul as a lion, 1 While there is none to ransom, nor to save. 1
O Lord my God, if I have done this 1 (If there is unrighteousness in my hands); 1
If I have requited with evil those who requited me with good; 1 May I then perish empty by means of my enemies. 1
Let the enemy persecute my soul, and take it; 1 And let him trample my life on the ground, 1 And lay my glory in the dust. Pause. 1
Arise, O Lord, in thy wrath; 1 Be exalted in the utmost boundaries of mine enemies: 1 Awake, O Lord my God, according to the decree which thou didst command. 1
And the congregation of the nations shall compass thee: 1 And for this cause do thou return on high. 1
The Lord shall judge the nations: 1 Judge me, O Lord, according to my righteousness, 1 And according to my innocence that is in me. 1
Oh let the wickedness of sinners come to an end; 1 And then thou shalt direct the righteous, 1 O God that searchest the hearts and reins. 1
My help is righteous, coming from God 1 Who saves the upright in heart. 1
God is a righteous judge, and strong, and patient, 1 Not inflicting vengeance every day. 1
If ye will not repent, he will furbish his sword; 1 He has bent his bow, and made it ready. 1
And on it he has fitted the instruments of death; 1 He has completed his arrows for the raging ones. 1
Behold, he has travailed with unrighteousness, 1 He has conceived trouble, and brought forth iniquity. 1
He has opened a pit, and dug it up, 1 And he shall fall into the ditch which he has made. 1
His trouble shall return on his own head, 1 And his unrighteousness shall come down on his own crown. 1
I will give thanks to the Lord according to his righteousness; 1 I will sing to the name of the Lord most high.
