Psalms 75
For the end, among the Hymns, a Psalm for Asaph; a Song for the Assyrian. 1
God is known in Judea; 1 His name is great in Israel. 1
And his place has been in peace, 1 And his dwelling place in Zion. 1
There he broke the power of the bows, 1 The shield, and the sword, and the battle. Pause. 1
Thou dost wonderfully shine forth from the everlasting mountains. 1
All the simple ones in heart were troubled; 1 All the men of wealth have slept their sleep, 1 And have found nothing in their hands. 1
At thy rebuke, O God of Jacob, 1 The riders on horses slumbered. 1
Thou art terrible; and who shall withstand thee, 1 Because of thine anger? 1
Thou didst cause judgment to be heard from heaven; 1 The earth feared, and was still, 1
When God arose to judgment, 1 To save all the meek in heart. Pause. 1
For the inward thought of man shall give thanks to thee: 1 And the memorial of his inward thought shall keep a feast to thee. 1
Vow, and pay your vows to the Lord our God; 1 All that are round about him shall bring gifts, 1 Even to him that is terrible,
and that takes away the spirits of princes; 1 To him that is terrible among the kings of the earth.
