Psalms 76
1For the end, for Jeduthun, a Psalm of Asaph. 1
2I cried to the Lord with my voice, 1 Yea, my voice was addressed to God; and he gave heed to me. 1
3In the day of mine affliction I earnestly sought the Lord; 1 Even with my hands by night before him, and I was not deceived; 1 My soul refused to be comforted. 1
4I remembered God, and rejoiced; 1 I poured out my complaint, and my soul fainted. Pause. 1
5All mine enemies set a watch against me: 1 I was troubled, and spoke not. 1
6I considered the days of old, 1 And remembered ancient years. 1
7And I meditated; I communed with my heart by night, 1 And diligently searched my spirit, saying, 1
8Will the Lord cast off forever? 1 And will he be well pleased no more? 1
9Will he cut off his mercy forever, 1 Even forever and ever? 1
10Will God forget to pity? 1 Or will he shut up his compassions in his wrath? Pause. 1
11And I said, Now I have begun; 1 This is the change of the right hand of the Most High. 1
12I remembered the works of the Lord; 1 For I will remember thy wonders from the beginning. 1
13And I will meditate on all thy works, 1 And will consider thy doings. 1
14O God, thy way is in the sanctuary; 1 Who is a great God as our God? 1
15Thou art the God that doest wonders; 1 Thou hast made known thy power among the nations. 1
16Thou hast with thine arm redeemed thy people, 1 The sons of Jacob and Joseph. Pause. 1
17The waters saw thee, O God, 1 The waters saw thee, and feared; 1 And the depths were troubled. 1
18There was an abundant sound of waters: 1 The clouds uttered a voice; 1 For thine arrows went abroad. 1
19The voice of thy thunder was abroad, 1 And around thy lightnings appeared to the world; 1 The earth trembled and quaked. 1
20Thy way is in the sea, 1 And thy paths in many waters, 1 And thy footsteps cannot be known. 1
21Thou didst guide thy people as sheep 1 By the hand of Moses and Aaron.
