Psalms 82
A Song of a Psalm for Asaph. 1
O God, who shall be compared to thee? 1 Be not silent, neither be still, O God. 1
For behold, thine enemies have made a noise; 1 And they that hate thee have lifted up the head. 1
Against thy people they have craftily imagined a device, 1 And have taken counsel against thy saints. 1
They have said, Come, and let us utterly destroy them out of the nation; 1 And let the name of Israel be remembered no more at all. 1
For they have taken counsel together with one consent: 1 They have made a confederacy against thee; 1
Even the tents of the Edomites, and the Ishmaelites; 1 Moab, and the Hagrites; 1
Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek; 1 The Philistines also, with them that dwell at Tyre. 1
Yea, Asshur too is come with them: 1 They have become a help to the children of Lot. Pause. 1
Do thou to them as to Midian, and to Sisera; 1 As to Jabin at the brook of Kishon. 1
They were utterly destroyed at En-dor: 1 They became as dung for the earth. 1
Make their princes as Oreb and Zeeb, 1 And Zebah and Zalmunna; even all their princes: 1
Who said, Let us take to ourselves the altar of God as an inheritance. 1
O my God, make them as a wheel; 1 As stubble before the face of the wind. 1
As fire which shall burn up a wood, 1 As the flame may consume the mountains; 1
So shalt thou persecute them with thy tempest, 1 And trouble them in thine anger. 1
Fill their faces with dishonor; 1 So shall they seek thy name, O Lord. 1
Let them be ashamed and troubled for evermore; 1 Yea, let them be confounded and destroyed. 1
And let them know that thy name is Lord; 1 That thou alone art Most High over all the earth.
