Psalms 85
1A Prayer of David. 1 O Lord, incline thine ear, and hearken to me; 1 For I am poor and needy. 1
2Preserve my soul, for I am holy; 1 Save thy servant, O God, who hopes in thee. 1
3Pity me, O Lord: for to thee will I cry all the day. 1
4Rejoice the soul of thy servant: 1 For to thee, O Lord, have I lifted up my soul. 1
5For thou, O Lord, art kind, and gentle; 1 And plenteous in mercy to all that call upon thee. 1
6Give ear to my prayer, O Lord; 1 And attend to the voice of my supplication. 1
7In the day of my trouble I cried to thee: for thou didst hear me. 1
8There is none like to thee, O Lord, among the gods; 1 And there are no works like to thy works. 1
9All nations whom thou hast made shall come, 1 And shall worship before thee, O Lord; 1 And shall glorify thy name. 1
10For thou art great, and doest wonders: 1 Thou art the only and the great God. 1
11Guide me, O Lord, in thy way, 1 And I will walk in thy truth: 1 Let my heart rejoice, that I may fear thy name. 1
12I will give thee thanks, O Lord my God, with all my heart; 1 And I will glorify thy name forever. 1
13For thy mercy is great toward me; 1 And thou hast delivered my soul from the lowest hell. 1
14O God, transgressors have risen up against me, 1 And an assembly of violent men have sought my life; 1 And have not set thee before them. 1
15But thou, O Lord God, art compassionate and merciful, 1 Long-suffering, and abundant in mercy and true. 1
16Look thou upon me, and have mercy upon me: 1 Give thy strength to thy servant, 1 And save the son of thy handmaid. 1
17Establish with me a token for good; 1 And let them that hate me see it and be ashamed; 1 Because thou, O Lord, hast helped me, and comforted me.
