Psalms 93
1A Psalm of David for the fourth day of the week. 1 The Lord is a God of vengeance; 1 The God of vengeance has declared himself. 1
2Be thou exalted, thou that judgest the earth: 1 Render a reward to the proud. 1
3How long shall sinners, O Lord, 1 How long shall sinners boast? 1
4They will utter and speak unrighteousness; 1 All the workers of iniquity will speak so. 1
5They have afflicted thy people, O Lord, 1 And hurt thy heritage. 1
6They have slain the widow and fatherless, 1 And murdered the stranger. 1
7And they said, The Lord shall not see, 1 Neither shall the God of Jacob understand. 1
8Understand now, ye simple among the people; 1 And ye fools, at length be wise. 1
9He that planted the ear, does he not hear? 1 Or he that formed the eye, does not he perceive? 1
10He that chastises the heathen, shall not he punish, 1 Even he that teaches man knowledge? 1
11The Lord knows the thoughts of men, that they are vain. 1
12Blessed is the man whomsoever thou shalt chasten, O Lord, 1 And shalt teach him out of thy law; 1
13To give him rest from evil days, 1 Until a pit be dug for the sinful one. 1
14For the Lord will not cast off his people, 1 Neither will he forsake his inheritance; 1
15Until righteousness return to judgment, 1 And all the upright in heart shall follow it. Pause. 1
16Who will rise up for me against the transgressors? 1 Or who will stand up with me against the workers of iniquity? 1
17If the Lord had not helped me, 1 My soul had almost sojourned in Hades. 1
18If I said, My foot has been moved; 1
19Thy mercy, O Lord, helped me. 1 O Lord, according to the multitude of my griefs within my heart, 1 Thy consolations have soothed my soul. 1
20Shall the throne of iniquity have fellowship with thee, 1 Which frames mischief by an ordinance? 1
21They will hunt for the soul of the righteous, 1 And condemn innocent blood. 1
22But the Lord was my refuge; 1 And my God the helper of my hope. 1
23And he will recompense to them their iniquity and their wickedness: 1 The Lord our God shall utterly destroy them.
