+ 14:17 (17-20) MP: The Messiah’s betrayer is a friend whom he breaks bread with. Consider more details about this betrayal: sold for 30 pieces of silver (Ex 21:32; Zech 11:12; Matt 26:15); the money is thrown down in God’s house (Zech 11:13b; Matt 27:5a); the price used to buy potter’s field for strangers’ burial graves (Zech 11:13b; Matt 27:7).
