John 5:35

John told you about me. He was like a bright light shining in the darkness, and for a while, you were happy with the things he said.

In The King James Version

He was a burning and a shining light: and ye were willing for a season to rejoice in his light.

34I don’t really need a human being to talk about me. But I’m telling you that the things John said about me are true. You see, I want you to believe them. Then God will save you.

36You see, John told you that God sent me, but the things that I do show even more clearly that God sent me. And I have to finish the job he sent me to do.
