Jesus took the man away from all the other people there and put his fingers in the man’s ears. He spat and touched the man’s tongue.

And he took him aside from the multitude, and put his fingers into his ears, and he spit, and touched his tongue;

32Some people brought a man to Jesus. That man was deaf, and he couldn’t talk properly. His friends asked Jesus strongly to put his hand on their friend and make him better.

34Then Jesus looked up into the sky and prayed for the man. He talked in their language. He said, “ Efatha.” That means, Open up.
