1 Corinthians 4:13

When we are slandered by people {When people slander us}, we reply kindly to them. Up to now, unbelievers consider us to be worthless [MET], as though we were just garbage.

Being defamed, we intreat: we are made as the filth of the world, and are the offscouring of all things unto this day.
