Psalms 106:23

Because of that, God said that he would get rid of the Israelis, but Moses, whom God had chosen to serve him, pleaded with God not to get rid of them. And as a result God did not destroy them.

In The King James Version

Therefore he said that he would destroy them, had not Moses his chosen stood before him in the breach, to turn away his wrath, lest he should destroy them.
