26Heshbon was the city of Sihon king of the Amorites, who had fought against the former king of Moab. Sihon had taken all his land from his territory to the Arnon River.

28A fire blazed from Heshbon, 1 a flame from the city of Sihon 1 that devoured Ar of Moab, 1 and the owners of the high places of Arnon. 1
