If someone is-esteeming to-be-being ceremonial/ritual-observance-ive, not bridle/rein/bit-leading [the] tongue of{same}, contrariwise deceiving/defrauding [the] heart of{same}, the ceremonial/ritual-observance-ia of{the-same} [is] vain.

In The King James Version

If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man’s religion is vain.
