Καὶ ἐκάλεσαν αὐτοῦ αἱ γείτονες ὄνομα, λέγουσαι, ἐτέχθη υἱὸς τῇ Νωεμίν. καὶ ἐκάλεσαν τὸ ὄνομα αὐτοῦ, Ὠβήδ· οὗτος πατὴρ Ἰεσσαὶ πατρὸς Δαυίδ.
