וַיַּעַן אֲחִימֶלֶךְ אֶת ־ הַמֶּלֶךְ וַיֹּאמַר וּמִי בְכָל ־ עֲבָדֶיךָ כְּדָוִד נֶאֱמָן וַחֲתַן הַמֶּלֶךְ וְסָר אֶל ־ מִשְׁמַעְתֶּךָ וְנִכְבָּד בְּבֵיתֶֽךָ ׃
