וַיֵּשֶׁב דָּוִד בַּמִּדְבָּר בַּמְּצָדוֹת וַיֵּשֶׁב בָּהָר בְּמִדְבַּר ־ זִיף וַיְבַקְשֵׁהוּ שָׁאוּל כָּל ־ הַיָּמִים וְלֹֽא ־ נְתָנוֹ אֱלֹהִים בְּיָדֽוֹ ׃
