וַיֹּאמֶר שְׁמוּאֵל אֶל ־ כָּל ־ בֵּית יִשְׂרָאֵל לֵאמֹר אִם ־ בְּכָל ־ לְבַבְכֶם אַתֶּם שָׁבִים אֶל ־ יְהוָה הָסִירוּ אֶת ־ אֱלֹהֵי הַנֵּכָר מִתּוֹכְכֶם וְהָעַשְׁתָּרוֹת וְהָכִינוּ לְבַבְכֶם אֶל ־ יְהוָה וְעִבְדֻהוּ לְבַדּוֹ וְיַצֵּל אֶתְכֶם מִיַּד פְּלִשְׁתִּֽים ׃
