וַיֹּאמֶר ־ אֱלֹהִים ׀ לִשְׁלֹמֹה יַעַן אֲשֶׁר הָיְתָה זֹאת עִם ־ לְבָבֶךָ וְלֹֽא ־ שָׁאַלְתָּ עֹשֶׁר נְכָסִים וְכָבוֹד וְאֵת נֶפֶשׁ שֹׂנְאֶיךָ וְגַם ־ יָמִים רַבִּים לֹא שָׁאָלְתָּ וַתִּֽשְׁאַל ־ לְךָ חָכְמָה וּמַדָּע אֲשֶׁר תִּשְׁפּוֹט אֶת ־ עַמִּי אֲשֶׁר הִמְלַכְתִּיךָ עָלָֽיו ׃
