וּדְבַר ־ אַבְנֵר הָיָה עִם ־ זִקְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל לֵאמֹר גַּם ־ תְּמוֹל גַּם ־ שִׁלְשֹׁם הֱיִיתֶם מְבַקְשִׁים אֶת ־ דָּוִד לְמֶלֶךְ עֲלֵיכֶֽם ׃
