בַּיָּמִים הָהֵם וּמָרְדֳּכַי יֹשֵׁב בְּשַֽׁעַר ־ הַמֶּלֶךְ קָצַף בִּגְתָן וָתֶרֶשׁ שְׁנֵֽי ־ סָרִיסֵי הַמֶּלֶךְ מִשֹּׁמְרֵי הַסַּף וַיְבַקְשׁוּ לִשְׁלֹחַ יָד בַּמֶּלֶךְ אֲחַשְׁוֵֽרֹשׁ ׃
