וַיִּצֶר יְהוָה אֱלֹהִים מִן ־ הָֽאֲדָמָה כָּל ־ חַיַּת הַשָּׂדֶה וְאֵת כָּל ־ עוֹף הַשָּׁמַיִם וַיָּבֵא אֶל ־ הָאָדָם לִרְאוֹת מַה ־ יִּקְרָא ־ לוֹ וְכֹל אֲשֶׁר יִקְרָא ־ לוֹ הָֽאָדָם נֶפֶשׁ חַיָּה הוּא שְׁמֽוֹ ׃
