וַיִּקַּח יוֹחָנָן בֶּן ־ קָרֵחַ וְכָל ־ שָׂרֵי הַחֲיָלִים אֲשֶׁר ־ אִתּוֹ אֵת כָּל ־ שְׁאֵרִית הָעָם אֲשֶׁר הֵשִׁיב מֵאֵת יִשְׁמָעֵאל בֶּן ־ נְתַנְיָה מִן ־ הַמִּצְפָּה אַחַר הִכָּה אֶת ־ גְּדַלְיָה בֶּן ־ אֲחִיקָם גְּבָרִים אַנְשֵׁי הַמִּלְחָמָה וְנָשִׁים וְטַף וְסָרִסִים אֲשֶׁר הֵשִׁיב מִגִּבְעֽוֹן ׃
