וְאֶת ־ מֶלֶךְ הָעַי תָּלָה עַל ־ הָעֵץ עַד ־ עֵת הָעָרֶב וּכְבוֹא הַשֶּׁמֶשׁ צִוָּה יְהוֹשֻׁעַ וַיֹּרִידוּ אֶת ־ נִבְלָתוֹ מִן ־ הָעֵץ וַיַּשְׁלִיכוּ אוֹתָהּ אֶל ־ פֶּתַח שַׁעַר הָעִיר וַיָּקִימוּ עָלָיו גַּל ־ אֲבָנִים גָּדוֹל עַד הַיּוֹם הַזֶּֽה ׃ פ
