Quando Joab e tutta la gente ch’era con lui furono arrivati, qualcuno riferì la nuova a Joab, dicendo: “Abner, figliuolo di Ner, è venuto dal re, il quale lo ha licenziato, ed egli se n’è andato in pace”.
