Romans 14:21

The right course is not to eat meat, nor to drink wine, nor to do anything through which your brother is made to stumble.

Montgomery New Testament

In The King James Version

It is good neither to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor any thing whereby thy brother stumbleth, or is offended, or is made weak.

In Context

20Do not, for the sake of food, be tearing down God’s work. All food indeed is ceremonially clean, but a man is in the wrong if his food proves a stumbling-block.

22Have you faith? Keep it to yourself as in the presence of God. He is a happy man who does not condemn himself in that which he approves.

Exhortations to Candour; The Dominion of Christ. ( a. d. 58.) 1 Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations. 2 For one believeth that he may eat all things: another, who is weak, eateth herbs. 3 Let not him that eateth despise him that eateth not; and let not him which eateth not judge him that eateth: for God hath received him. 4 Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand. 5… Read the whole commentary →
