[ edit] And þe princes of þe meynees of Leuy camen to Eleazar, þe preeſt, and to Joſue, þe ſone of Nun, and to þe dukys of þe kynredis, bi eche lynagis of þe ſones of Yrael; and þei ſpeken to hem in Silo, of þe loond of Chanaan, and ſeiden, Þe Lord comaundide bi þe hoond of Moyſes, þat þere ſhulden be ȝeue to vs cytees to dwel, and ſuburbis of hem to beeſtis to be fed. And þe ſones of Irael ȝauen of her poſſeſſiouns, after þe heeſt of þe Lord, citees and ſuburbs of hem.

And þe lot wente out in to þe meynee of Chaat, of þe ſones of Aaron, preeſt, of þe lynage of Juda, and of Symeon, and of Beniamyn, citees þretteen; and to þat oþer of þe ſones of Chaaþ, þat is, to þe Leuytis þat weren ouer, of þe lynagis of Effraym, and of Dan, and of half þe lynage of Manaſſe, cytees ten. Forþermore to þe ſones of Gerſon wente out lot, þat þei taken of þe lynagis of Yſachar, and Aſer, and Neptalym, and of þe half lynage of Manaſſe in Baſan, cytees in noumbre þretteen; and to þe ſones of Merary, bi her kynredis, of þe lynagis of Ruben, and of Gad, and of Zabulon, citees twelue.

And þe ſones of Yrael ȝauen to þe Leuytis citees, and ſuburbs of hem, as þe Lord comaundide bi þe hoond of Moyſes, eche bi lot ȝyuynge. Of þe lynagis of þe ſones of Juda, and of Symeon, Joſue ȝaf citees, of þe whiche þes ben þe names; to þe ſones of Aaron, bi þe meynees of Chaaþ, of Leuy kynde; forſoþe þe fyrſt lot goon out to hem is; Caryaþarbe, of þe fader of Enach, þat is clepid Ebron, in þe hil of Juda, and þe ſuburbs of it bi enuyroun; forſoþe feeldis and þe touns of it he ȝaf to Caleph, þe ſone of Jephone, to weeld.

He ȝaf þanne to þe ſones of Aaron, preeſt, Ebron, þe citee of fliȝt, and þe ſuburbs of it, and Lebna wiþ his ſuburbs, and Geþer, and Yſchymon, and Elon, and Dabyr, and Aym, and Leþan, and Beþſames wiþ his ſuburbs; citees nyne, of þe lynagis, as it is ſeid, of two; forſoþe of þe lynage of þe ſones of Beniamyn, Gabaon, and Gabae, and Anaþot, and Almon wiþ his ſuburbs; citees foure. Alle togidre þe citees of þe ſones of Aaron, preeſt, þretteen, wiþ her ſuburbis.

Forſoþe to þat oþer of Leuyte kynde, bi þe meynees of þe ſones of Caaþ, þis þe ȝouen poſſeſſioun; of þe lynage of Effraym, þe cytee of fliȝt, Sichem, wiþ hys ſuburbs, in þe hil of Effraym, and Gaſer, and Cebſeyn, and Beþoron wiþ his ſuburbs; citees foure; and of þe lynage of Dan, Helþece, Gebeþon, and Hayhalon, and Geþremmon wiþ his ſuburbs; cytees foure; forſoþe of þe half lynage of Manaſſe, Thanach, and Geþremon, wiþ his ſuburbs, citees two. Alle þe ten cytees and ſuburbs of hem ben ȝeue to þe ſones of Caaþ, of þe lower degree.

Forſoþe to þe ſones of Gerſon, of Leuyte kynde, he haþ ȝouun, of þe half lynage of Manaſſe, citees of fliȝt, Gaulon in Baſan, and Boſram, wiþ his ſuburbis; citees two; forſoþe of þe lynage of Yſachar, Theſion, Dabireþ, and Geromoþ, and Enganym wiþ his ſuburbs; citees foure; of þe lynage of Azer, Maſal, and Abdon, and Elechat, and Roob wiþ his ſuburbs; cytees foure; and of þe lynage of Neptalym, citee of fliȝt, Cedes in Galile, and Amodor, and Carþan wiþ his ſuburbs; cytees þree. Alle þe citees of þe meynees of Gerſon, þretteen, wiþ his ſuburbs.

Forſoþe to þe ſones of Merary, Leuytis of þe lower degre, bi her meynees, is ȝouun, of þe lynage of Zabulon, Geþeron, and Carcha, and Demna, and Nalol; cytees foure, wiþ her ſuburbs; of þe lynage of Gad, þe cytee of fliȝt, Ramoþ in Galaad, and Manahym, and Eſebon, and Jazer; citees foure, wiþ her ſuburbs; and of þe lynage of Ruben, biȝond Jordan, aȝens Jericho, citee of refuyt, Bozor in þe wildernes of Myſor, and Jazer, and Jecſon, and Maſpha; citees foure, wiþ her ſuburbs. Alle þe cytees of þe ſones of Merary, bi meynees and her kynredis, twelue.

And ſo alle þe citees of Leuytis, in þe mydil of þe poſſeſſioun of þe ſones of Yrael, weren eiȝt and fourti, wiþ her ſuburbs, eche bi meynees delid. And þe Lord God haþ ȝouun to Yrael al þe loond þat he ſwore hym ſelf to ȝeue to faders of hem, and þei weeldiden it, and dwelten in it. And of hym is ȝouun pees in alle naciouns bi enuyroun; and noon of þe enemyes is hardi to wiþſtoond hem, but alle ben brouȝt into þe lordſhip of hem. Forſoþe ne o word þat to hem he bihiȝte hym ſelf to be to ȝeue, was maad in veyn, but in dedys alle þingis ben fulfillyd.
