[ edit] Thes forſoþe ben þe generaciouns of Yſau; he is Edom. Eſau took wyues of þe dowtres of Chanaan, Ada, þe dowȝter of Elom Eþei, and Oolibama, þe dowȝter of a ſone of Sebeon Euehi, and Beþſemaþ þe dowȝter of Iſmael, þe ſiſtir of Nabaioþ. Ada forſoþe bare Eliphat; Baþſemaþ gat Rahuel; Oolibama gat Hyeus, and Hielon, and Chore. Þes þe ſones of Eſau, þat weren born to hym in þe loond of Chanaan.

Eſau forſoþe took his wyues, and ſones, and dowȝtres, and al þe ſoule of his hows, and ſubſtaunce, and beeſtis, and al þat he myȝte haue in þe loond of Chanaan, and ȝede into anoþir regioun, and wente awey fro Jacob his broþer; forſoþe ryche þei weren greetli, and togidere dwellen myȝten not, and þe loond of þe pilgrimage of hem ſuſteynede hem not, for þe multitude of flockis. And Eſau dwelte in þe hil of Seyr; he is Edom. Þes forſoþe ben þe generaciouns of Eſau, fader of Edom, in þe hil of Seyr, and þes þe names of þe ſones of hym. Eliphaþ, þe ſone of Ada, wijf of Eſau, and Rahuel, þe ſone of Baþſemaþ, wijf of hym. And þe ſones of Eliphat weren, Cheman, Emaþ, Sephu, Gatan, Ceneþ, and Chore.

Tanna forſoþe was þe ſecundarie wiyf of Elipaþ, ſone of Eſau, þat bare to hym Amalech. Þes ben þe ſones of Ada, wijf of Eſau. Þe ſones forſoþe of Rahuel, Naaþ, and Ara, Semma, and Mera. Þes þe ſones of Baþſemaþ, wijf of Eſau. And þes weren þe ſones of Oolibama, dowȝter of Ane, ſone of Sebeon, wiyf of Eſau, whom ſhe get to hym; Hyeus, and Hielon, and Chore. Þes þe dukis of þe ſones of Eſau; þe ſones of Elyphaþ, þe firſt getun of Eſau, duke Theman, duke Omar, duke Sephua, duke Seneþ, duke Chore, duke Datan, duke Amelech. Þes þe ſones of Eliphaþ, in þe loond of Edom, and þes þe ſones of Ade.

And þes þe ſones of Rahuel, ſone of Eſau, duke Naaþ, duke Zara, duke Semma, duke Mera; þes forſoþe dukis of Rahuel, in þe loond of Edom. Þes þe ſones of Baþſemaþ, wijf of Eſau. Þes forſoþe þe ſones of Oolybama, wijf of Eſau; duke Hyeus, duke Hyelon, duke Chore; þes þe dukis of Oolibama, dowȝter of Anee, wijf of Eſau. Þes ben þe ſones of Eſau, and þes þe dukes of hem; he is Edom. Þes ben þe ſones of Seyr Horrey, þe dwellers of þe loond, Joþan, and Sobal, and Sebeon, and Anam, and Dyſon, and Eſer, and Dyſan; þes þe dukis of Horrei, ſones of Seyr, in þe loond of Edom. Þe ſones forſoþe of Joþan ben maad, Horrey, and Theman; forſoþe þe ſiſter of Joþan was Thanna.

And þes þe ſones of Sobal; Aluan, and Maneeþ, and Ebal, Sephi, and Onam. And þes þe ſones of Sebeon; Achaia, and Ana; þis is Ana, þat fonde hoot watris in wildernes, whanne he fedde þe ſhe aſſis of Sebeon, his fadir; and he hadde a ſone Dyſan, and a dowȝter Oolibama. And þes þe ſones of Dyſan; Amdam, and Jeſban, and Jetran, and Charan. And þes þe ſones of Heſar; Baalan, and Zauan, and Acham. And Dyſan hadde ſones, Hus, and Haran. Þes þe dukis of Horreis; duke Joþan, duke Sobal, duke Sebeon, duke Ana, duke Dyſon, duke Heſer, duke Dyſan; þes þe dukis of Horreis, þat comaundeden in þe loond of Seyr.

Þe kyngis forſoþe þat regneden in þe loond of Edom, or þat þe children of Yrael hadden a kyng, weren þes; Balach, þe ſone of Beor, and þe name of his cyte Denaba. And þis deed, regnede for hym Adad, and þe name of þe cite of hym Phoa, and þe wijf of hym was clepid Meeſabel, þe dowȝter of Maþret, dowȝter of Meſaab. Þes þanne þe names of þe dukis of Eſau, in kynredis, and places, and her names; þe duke Thanna, þe duke Alua, þe duke Jezeþ, þe duke Oolibama, duke Ela, duke Phynon, duke Zeneþ, duke Theman, duke Mabſar, duke Madiel, duke Yram; þes þe dukys of Edom, þe dwellers in þe loond of his empire; he is Eſau, þe fader of Ydumeis.
