సేవకులు వెళ్లిపోయిన తరువాత యోనాతాను, అహిమయస్సు బావిలో నుండి బయటికి వచ్చి దావీదు దగ్గరికి వెళ్లి. అహీతోపెలు అతని మీద వేసిన పథకం గురించి చెప్పి “నువ్వు లేచి త్వరగా నది దాటు” అని చెప్పారు.

20అబ్షాలోము సేవకులు ఆ ఇంటి దగ్గరికి వచ్చారు. అహిమయస్సు, యోనాతాను ఎక్కడ ఉన్నారని అడిగారు. ఆమె “వారు నది దాటి వెళ్లిపోయారు” అని చెప్పింది. వారు వెళ్లి చుట్టుపక్కల అంతా వెతికి వారు కనబడకపోయే సరికి యెరూషలేముకు తిరిగి వచ్చారు.

22దావీదు, అతని దగ్గర ఉన్న మనుషులంతా లేచి యొర్దాను నది దాటారు. తెల్లవారేసరికి ఒక్కడు కూడా మిగలకుండా అందరూ నది దాటి వెళ్ళిపోయారు.
