ఆ సమయంలో దావీదు “దావీదు శత్రువులైన గుడ్డి, కుంటి యెబూసీయులపై దాడి చేయాలనుకునే వారంతా నీటికాలువ సొరంగం గుండా ఎక్కి వెళ్ళాలి” అన్నాడు. అప్పటినుండి “గుడ్డివారు, కుంటివారు యెహోవా మందిరంలోపలికి + 5:8 యెహోవా మందిరంలోపలికి రాజభవనం రాలేరు” అనే సామెత పుట్టింది.
