ఎబెదు కొడుకు గాలు బయలుదేరి పట్టణం ద్వారం దగ్గర నిలిచి ఉన్నప్పుడు అబీమెలెకు, అతనితో ఉన్న మనుషులు పొంచి ఉన్న చోటు నుండి లేచారు.

34అబీమెలెకు అతనితో ఉన్న మనుషులందరూ రాత్రివేళ లేచి నాలుగు గుంపులై షెకెము మీద దాడి చెయ్యడానికి పొంచి ఉన్నారు.

36గాలు ఆ మనుషులను చూసి, జెబులుతో “ఇదిగో మనుషులు కొండ శిఖరాల మీద నుంచి దిగివస్తున్నారు” అన్నప్పుడు జెబులు “కొండల నీడలు నీకు మనుషుల్లా కనిపిస్తున్నాయి” అన్నాడు.
