শিময়ির ষোলজন ছেলে ও ছয়জন মেয়ে ছিল, কিন্তু তার ভাইদের বেশি ছেলেমেয়ে ছিল না। সেইজন্য তাদের সমস্ত গোষ্ঠীর মধ্যে যিহূদা গোষ্ঠীর মত এত লোক বৃদ্ধি পায়নি।
