Gather yourselves together, and hear, ye sons of Jacob; and hearken unto Israel your father.

1Then Jacob sent someone to bring all his sons to him. When they came he said, “My sons, stand around me so that I can tell you what is going to happen to each one of you later on.” This is what he said to them.

3Reuben. You were born first when I was young and strong. And you showed everyone that I could be a father. You are the first born son. You are strong and you should be the leader for the family.
