And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the LORD caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided.

20so that it was positioned between the Egyptian and Israelite camps. The cloud was in darkness on one side, but it lit up the night on the other. No one from either camp went near the other during the night.
