The commandment of the Lord is a fountain of life; 1 And it causes men to turn aside from the snare of death. 1

26 In the fear of the Lord is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge. 27 The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death. In these two verses we are invited and encouraged to live in the fear of God by the advantages which attend a religious life.
