You see, those sick people wanted to get better, and they believed that sometimes one of God’s angel messengers came down and stirred the water in that pool. And they believed that after that, the first person to get into the water got better from any sickness they had.

In The King James Version

For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had.

3and a lot of sick people lay there. Some of those people were blind, and some of them were crippled, and some couldn’t move at all.

5Jesus came to that pool, and there was a man lying there that couldn’t walk. He was crippled like that for 38 years.
