Don’t be like them. God, your father, knows what you need already, even before you ask him.

Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.

7And when you pray, don’t keep on talking on and on, with lots of words that don’t mean anything. People that don’t know God, they do that. They think that if they talk a lot, God will hear them. But they are wrong.

9So pray like this, ‘God, our father, you live in heaven. We want everyone to respect you.
