Ecclesiastes 11
Send out your bread on the waters, 2 for you will find it again after many days. 1
Share it with seven, even eight people, 2 for you do not know what disasters are coming on the earth. 1
If the clouds are full of rain, 2 they empty themselves on the earth, 1 and if a tree falls toward the south or toward the north, 2 wherever the tree falls, there it will remain. 1
Anyone who watches the wind might not plant, 2 and anyone who watches the clouds might not harvest. 1
As you do not know the path of the wind, 2 nor how a baby's bones grow in the pregnant womb, + 11:5 Some modern versions have As you do not know the path of the spirit to the baby's bones in the pregnant womb . 1 so also you cannot comprehend the work of God, 2 who created everything. 1
In the morning plant your seed; 2 until the evening, work with your hands as needed, 1 for you know not which will prosper, 2 whether morning or evening, or this or that, 2 or whether they will both alike be good. 1
Truly the light is sweet, 2 and it is a pleasant thing for the eyes to see the sun. 1
If someone lives many years, 2 let him be happy in all of them, 1 but let him think about the coming days of darkness, 2 for they will be many. 1 Everything to come is vanishing vapor. 1
Take joy, young man, in your youth, 2 and let your heart be joyful in the days of your youth. 1 Pursue the good desires of your heart, 2 and whatever is within the sight of your eyes. 1 However, know that God will bring you into judgment for all these things. 1
Drive anger away from your heart, 2 and ignore any pain in your body, 1 because youth and its strength are vapor.
