Woe! Nation, sinners, a people weighed down with iniquity, 1 offspring of evildoers, sons who act corruptly! 1 They have abandoned Yahweh, they have despised the Holy One of Israel, 1 they have estranged themselves from him. 1

Ah sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a seed of evildoers, children that are corrupters: they have forsaken the LORD, they have provoked the Holy One of Israel unto anger, they are gone away backward.
