The Lord has covered the daughter of Zion under the cloud of his anger. 1 He has thrown the splendor of Israel down from heaven to earth. 1 He has not remembered his footstool on the day of his anger. 1

The second alphabetical elegy is set to the same mournful tune with the former, and the substance of it is much the same; it begins with Ecah, as that did, "How sad is our case! Alas for us!" I.
