Senk mesye yo ale, yo rive lavil layis. Yo wè ki jan moun ki te rete Layis yo te san pwoblèm, tankou moun peyi Sidon yo. Se te yon bann moun ki t'ap viv byen yonn ak lòt, ki pa t' nan kont ak pesonn nan peyi a. Yo te gen tou sa yo te bezwen. Yo t'ap viv byen lwen moun peyi Sidon yo, yo pa t' mele ak pesonn moun lòt nasyon yo.

Then the five men departed, and came to Laish, and saw the people that were therein, how they dwelt careless, after the manner of the Zidonians, quiet and secure; and there was no magistrate in the land, that might put them to shame in any thing; and they were far from the Zidonians, and had no business with any man.
