[ edit] Thes ben þe generaciouns of þe ſonys of Noe, Sem, Cham, and Japheþ. And ſonys ben born to hem after þe flood. Þe ſones of Japheþ, Gomer, and Magog, and Maday, and Jauan, and Tubal, and Moſoþ, and Thiras. Þe ſonys forſoþe of Gomer, Aſſenes, and Riphaþ, and Thogorma. Þe ſones forſoþe of Jauan, Heliſa, and Taſſis, Ceþym, and Dodanym; of þes ben diuydid yles of Gentils in her generaciouns, echone aftir þe tung and her meynes, in her naciouns. Þe ſones forſoþe of Cham, Chus, and Meſraym, Fuþ, and Chanaan. Þe ſones forſoþe of Chus, Saba, and Euila, and Sabaþa, and Regma, and Sabataþa. Þe ſonys of Regma, Saba and Dadan.

Chus forſoþe gat Nemeroþ; he bigan to be myȝti in þe erþe, and he was a ſtrong hunter bifore þe Lord; of þat ȝede out a prouerbe, as Nemoroþ, a ſtrong hunter bifore þe Lord. Þe bigynyng forſoþe of his rewme was Babiloyn, and Arach, and Archad, and Thalamne, in þe erþe of Sennaar. Of þat londe was gon out Aſſur, and he bildide Nynyuen, and þe ſtretis of þe cytee, and Chale, Reſen alſo bitwix Nynyuen and Chale; þis is þe greet citee. And forſoþe Meſraym gat Ludym, and Anamym, and Laabym, Neptym, and Phetuſym, and Cheſluym; of þe which ben gon out Philiſtiym and Capturym.

Chanaan forſoþe gat Sydonem, his firſt gotun, Eþeum, and Jebuſeum, and Amoreum, Gergeſeum, Eueum, and Araþeum, Cyneum, and Aradium, Samaryten, and Amaþeum; and bi þes ben ſowed out þe puplis of Chananes. And þe termes of Chanaan ben maad to þilk þat comen fro Sidon Geraran, vnto Gazan, to þe tyme þat þou come into Sodomam, and Gomorram, and Adamam, and Seboin, vnto Leſa. Þes ben þe ſonys of Cham, in kynredis, and tungis, and generaciouns, and erþis, and her folkis. Of Sem forſoþe ben born þe faderes of alle þe ſonys of Heber, þe more broþer of Japheþ. Þe ſonys of Sem; Elam, and Aſſur, and Arfaxad, and Lud, and Aram. Þe ſonys of Aram; Vs, and Hul, and Geþer, and Mes.

And forſoþe Arfaxad gat Sale, of whom is born Heber. And þere ben born to Heber two ſonys, name to þe toon Phalig, þere þurȝ þat in þe daies of him þe erþe is dyuydid; and þe name of his broþer Jactan. Þe which Jactan gat Elmodad, and Saleþ, and Sarmoþ, Jare, and Adhuram, and Vzal, and Deda, and Ebel, and Abumael, Saba and Ophir, and Euila, and Jobab; alle þes þe ſonys of Jactan. And þe abitacioun of hem is maad o Meſſa, as men goon vnto Sephar, þe eſt hille. Þes þe ſones of Sem, after cognaciouns, and tungis, and regiouns, in her folkis. Þes þe meynes of Noe, aftir puplis and her naciouns; of þes ben dyuydid þe gentilis aftir þe flood in þe erþe.
