Deuteronomy 19:5

పొరపాటున వాణ్ణి చంపితే, అంటే ఒకడు చెట్లు నరకడానికి వేరొక వ్యక్తితో అడవికి వెళ్ళి చెట్లు నరకడానికి తన చేతితో గొడ్డలి దెబ్బ వేసినప్పుడు, గొడ్డలి పిడి ఊడి ఆ వ్యక్తికి తగిలి, వాడు చనిపోతే ఆ హంతకుడు ప్రాణం నిలుపుకునేందుకు వీటిలో ఎదో ఒక పట్టణానికి పారిపోవాలి.

4హంతకుడు పారిపోయి బతకడానికి నియమించిన పద్ధతి ఏమిటంటే, ఒకడు అంతకు ముందు తన పక్కనున్న వాడి మీద పగ ఏమీ లేకుండా

6చనిపోయిన వాడి బంధువు కోపంతో హంతకుణ్ణి తరిమి, దారి చాలా దూరం గనక వాణ్ణి పట్టుకుని చంపకుండేలా వాడు ఇలా చెయ్యాలి. అతనికి ఆ వ్యక్తిపై గతంలో ఎలాంటి పగ లేదు కనుక అతడు మరణశిక్షకు పాత్రుడు కాక పోయినా ఇలా జరగవచ్చు.
